Walmart for fresh veggies, paper products, CD's, small appliances.
Meijer for clothes, auto supplies, paint, garden things, photo developing, toys.
This is in Howell and Brighton. Go to Meijer for the least friendly people.

I think the quality is equal. Wal-Mart has lower prices. I usually go to Wal-Mart because it is closer to my home. When I have more time I go to Meijer. Meijer definitely has a better check-out system. It seems lines are always longer in Wal-Mart.

Walmart definitely, although Meijers is good sometimes too. Walmart has a better selection and cheaper prices.

I LOVE Meijer, however I live in Texas now (used to live in Michigan) and Meijer is a Midwest chain. so I generally go to Target if it means I can avoid Wal-Mart. I really only go to Wal-Mart if I'm desperate b/c it's always way too crowded, they never have enough checkout lanes open, and their workers are pretty rude.

Meijer. They're a business based in Michigan and they aren't evil. Good prices, good generics, enough variety to drive you batty. I won't set foot in Walmart after reading the following article:
There is no Meijers in the New Orleans area. So, I guess my answer is Walmart.

Ohhh that's tough. When I visit my Grandparents in Grand Blanc, MI...they have both within about 5 miles from their house. Both have good prices, but Meijer seems to have a bigger variety.

Meijer. They don't always have the lowest price but they do always offer superior quality and more name brands.

Wal-Mart. I have never heard of Meijers. I try to avoid shopping for clothes at Wal-Mart.
